problem getting sd card past half full with mp3?
ok i have a 1 gig flash card .. i have 113 mp3 files on it (422 megs) which puts it at just under half full .. it shows a capacity of 970 megs .. i emptied it reformatted it but can still only get that much on it ... unless i put a folder on it then it will let me add past what i already have but only if the additional files go in that folder .. i need all the files outside of a folder cause that is what my fm transmitter/mp3 player needs .. is there some limit i am unaware of or is there some other fixable problem?
whenever i try to copy any more mp3's i get a message saying
Cannot copy (name of mp3 filer here): The directory or file cannot be created
they are all good files i listen to them daily
and the card did recently have as much as 887 megs worth of files on it .. pics and utilities and what not but they were on there in a mix of folders and not
Yes, there is a limit to the number of files you can have in a single folder. As you have discovered, you can use multiple folders to get round this limit. Most MP3 players should be able to deal with files in sub-folders transparently.
